Woke Snow White Movie Flops At Box Office
Disney’s live action “Snow White’ movie flopped at the box office this past weekend. The movie only made 43 million, less than the 50 million plus it was projected to make. The movie had a budget of over 200 million dollars, and when take into account marketing cost, there's a high chance the movie will lose money for Disney.
Rachel Zegler, who is the actress who played Snow White, has been at the center of controversy throughout the marketing of the film. She famously said after the 2024 election that she hoped Trump and his supporters would “Never know peace”.
Zegler is also of Hispanic heritage, so having her play a chapter whose name came from having skin as white as snow was always going to be controversial, and the actresses comments only made matters worse.
It should also be pointed out this movie started production in early 2021, when woke was still accepted by the public in a way its clearly not since te results of the 2024 election. The change in the political environment clary hurt the movie.
