Trump Uses Emergency Powers To Increase Mineral Production
President Donald Trump invoked emergency powers to increase mineral production. This is seen as an effort to get the US to be less reliant on imports from other countries.
The executive order instructs government agencies, to focus on mining projects as well as providing financial support to boost mineral production.
From the executive order :
“Our national and economic security are now acutely threatened by our reliance upon hostile foreign powers' mineral production.”
"It is imperative for our national security that the United States take immediate action to facilitate domestic mineral production to the maximum possible extent."
