Trump Suggests Deal With Ukraine & Russia Could Happen This Week

President Trump suggested today on Truth Social that Russia and Ukraine could agree to a deal as early as this week.

“HOPEFULLY RUSSIA AND UKRAINE WILL MAKE A DEAL THIS WEEK. BOTH WILL THEN START TO DO BIG BUSINESS WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHICH IS THRIVING, AND MAKE A FORTUNE!”

A peace deal between Russia and Ukraine would be a welcome development for the world. President Trump has long campaigned on ending the war, and if this comes to pass, it would also be a major accomplishment for the current administration.

When President Zelensky visited the White House several weeks ago, where Zelensky appeared visibly frustrated, and he did not seem open to negotiation. He later criticized Putin for taking personal shots at Zelensky. Critics of the Trump administration have used this as evidence that Trump has no clear strategy for ending the war.

But we at The Right-Wing Populist believe this has all been part of a larger strategy—to pressure both Zelensky and Putin into ultimately agreeing to a deal. Trump doesn’t want to create the image that he’s favoring one side, or the negotiations will likely not go anywhere.

We shall see what happens.
