Trump Announces 25% Tariff On Cars Not Made In U.S.

Trump today in the Oval Office a 25% tariff on all automobiles not made in the USA. He announced the tariffs would be permanent through the rest of his term.
“25% tariff on all cars that are not made in the United States... business is coming back to the United States so that they don't have to pay tariffs... This will continue to spur growth like you haven't seen before,” the President said.

When a reporter asked if he would consider revoking the tariffs or if they would last for his term the President made clear it was permanent, saying they were “100% permanent”.
The president believes that the tariffs will create the right incentives for automobiles companies to make cars in the US and to bring jobs to the US.
