Republicans Continue To Make Registration Gains In PA

Republicans gained 1,566 new voters in the month of March, while Democrats lost 5,744 voters. Republicans have continued to narrow the registration gap in the state.

Democrats have long had the voter registration advantage in Pennsylvania, but that advantage is almost gone, with their lead now under 100,000.
Republicans will likely overtake Democrats before the next presidential election, perhaps even before the 2026 midterms.
Trump won the state of Pennsylvania by over 1.7%, or more than 100,000 votes. Pennsylvania used to be part of the “Blue Wall”—a group of Midwestern states that had reliably voted Democrat until Trump came onto the political scene.
Voter registration trends tend to be indicative of election results, at least generally speaking. So, regardless of presidential approval polls, if Republicans continue to gain nationwide in registration, that would be a good sign that the public supports the administration’s agenda.
